lyrics

I've always loved this spot.
No really. There's often no one here,
At least this time, when street lights are shining,
Everyone tries to escape the cold, but I love cold water near.

Now that I'm standing at the pier,
Now that everything's wandering into place.
There are some things I need to hear.
Just two lonely faces.

You and I have found ourselves,
Just separate bodies encasing entities,
And my journals are on the shelves,
While yours were burned with crashing cities.

You could read my whole past,
But you burn yours and that piece of you dies.
You could check out my volumes, just ask,
While the worst of you is torched in despise.

And I find it sort of calming that you,
Have this strong idea that you,
Haven't got a clue what you've,
Got in store for the future, but,

Now that I'm standing at the pier,
Now that everything's wandering into place.
There are some things I need to hear.
Just two ready faces.

You are one of a different kind,
That I've needed through all these years,
And your beautiful soul and mind,
Speaks sweet rainfall to my ears,

about

Jonathan Atkins Mississauga, Ontario

"A singer-songwriter with a devastating ear for harmonies and a delicate touch with lyrics that slide perfectly into a horrid winter. There's a definite Celtic touch, but far sweeter than something like Mumford & Sons." - Andrew Fifield (Metro News)
