I tried to see the world upside down. Because I wanted to see if you knew I was around. I was worried we'd all die alone, With only understanding ourselves, but I was wrong. Mmmmmmmm. Niagara (free) 04:31
We're getting old, But we don't know it yet. We can smoke like the chimneys we are, And not fear death. We're losing our youth, In wrinkles like timelines, in stretch marks and scars, That remember each smile line, and the stories that coincide. And we'll give the dog away, We can't care for him anymore, When our health alone's, trying to boot us both out the door. From our home in Niagara on the lake. We've gotten old, I'm not afraid of it yet, I'll lose my mind one day at a time, And hold on to whats left, Just boxes of collected stamps, And photographs of immigration. There's so many things I've forgotten, But will carry on through generations. All the stories that coincide. I hope my granddaughter's will find. All the stories I've kept in my journals over time. And we'll give the dog away, We can't care for him anymore, When our health alone's, trying to boot us both out the door. From our home in Niagara on the lake.

James Taylor (free) 05:43
Don't even try, To tell where we were going to, kid You had no clue, But hell, I did. And don't try to say goodnight, Because I'm not holding on anymore, no I, I'm not holding on, not holding on, Say goodnight, and I'll say goodbye. Cause you don't even know where I am, You don't even know what I've done, You don't even care where I'm going to, I'm not just doing this for fun. Cause I knew exactly where you were. I knew everything you'd done. And now I don't care where you're going, Because you did it all for fun. She built little vessels of time, And held them all in places where she would, Access all the memories, Whenever she could. Don't you know where I am, None say I'll never exceed, But I hold the view that you had for me. Yah i still hold that stupid view you had for me.

I've Got Friends (free) 03:47
I’ve got friends, And I’m trying not to keep that as an understatement, But I will never understand how they state things so clearly. How they hold on to every word they meant, As though angels are right there over there shoulders, Spreading their wings, ready to bring wrath at any moment, If the slightest verb was dishonest. The words they speak compliment the underlying tone, And I will never understand how fucking beautiful they are, And every breath they encounter speaks wisdom of unknown, While, even though they have no clue, it feels like they’ve known, And when I think of the angels hiding devilishly behind them, I think of the wings each and every one of them deserve and have grown.

Closure (free) 04:14
Oh I've found myself, Oh I've found myself, Oh I've found myself, A strong willed angel. And I told myself countless times before, That I've stumbled out of my league, That I'm just terribly lucky, To find a strong willed angel. With hair that strikes up confidence, In the strangest case of low self esteem. I find myself building her up, As she builds a home in me. Oh I find closure, I find closure, I find closure, I find, Closure in her green eyes, And she brings herself down, In the softest of sounds, And lends me the first feather she's grown.

about

Jonathan Atkins Mississauga, Ontario

"A singer-songwriter with a devastating ear for harmonies and a delicate touch with lyrics that slide perfectly into a horrid winter. There's a definite Celtic touch, but far sweeter than something like Mumford & Sons." - Andrew Fifield (Metro News)
