Tidal Waves 03:27
Daddy always told me about the reckoning waves, Two steps too far, and they’ll carry you away. So I’d take myself right down to waters shore, Just to dip my feet, and taste nothing more. Oh, but the tidal waves, oh the tidal waves, They had a different plan for me. Drawn in by a courage explained only by an enemy. Oh the tidal waves, oh the tidal waves, I could tell that they could see, I was two steps too far, they could easily gain a handle on me. Up upon the shore I was wild and free, Could stare into the distance at the darkening sea, I was blessed with a freedom to be awake and pursue, But cursed by the thought of not knowing what to do

In Oceans 02:18
Sometimes I’ll drink to forget, But this time it’s got regret, As things I try not to remember, Come flooding back into my head. And my mind becomes an ocean, As I fill up on this potion, And I’d love for you to join, Quite honestly, but all I’ve got are these apparent motions. Do, do, do, do, do, do, Do, do, do, do, do, do, Do, do, do, do, do, do, Do, do, do, do, do, do, Do, do, do, do, Do, do, do, Do, do, do, do, Do, do, do, do. I’ll probably tumble in a wave, Stranded out here for days, With no worry of who I am, Or my new desperate ways. But right now all the pretty little lies, That I drift amongst the tides. In this ever widening ocean, Sort of take me by surprise. And you knew me, To drift out in the oceans, To toss and crumble with waves, And you knew, Those oceans were me. And you knew me, To drift out in the oceans, To toss and crumble with waves, And you knew, Those oceans were me. Do, do, do, do, do, do, Do, do, do, do, do, do, Do, do, do, do, do, do, Do, do, do, do, do, do, Do, do, do, do, Do, do, do, Do, do, do, do, Do, do, do, do. And I’d be okay, Tossing with the waves, If I knew I was underneath the brightening stars.

The Sea 03:28
Oh we could stand there like filthy fucking kings We could stand upon a hill and watch a city slowly burn, But I had rather dropped my blood covered axe, And watched my crimes soak in the snow and hope to God they don’t return And we set sail, On the ship built for a queen, And we find ourselves lost, Amongst a darkening sea. Scared through the night, Discovering a sea much more wide, Than anything we had ever imagined As the ruggid sea shifts the green rocky waters until the ship finally hits the tide. And so it goes, Only because fear drives the driving thoughts That fight the lights in my frightful head, And it steers the ship through ruggid waters, It steers this ship through the sea Storms are coming, Storms are headed our way, And I don’t believe this ship will make it, Much further at this pace. With growing fear of sinking, Staring up at the stars in this shallow sea we drown, We may go down with this ship. Lets not forget all the things that we’ve done as we go down.

"I've got friends in high places," This old man had said. "Tell me don't touch the river, Just stay home instead. Everything it touches turns to gold, You don't want to be the people below, Frozen with dreams growing old." The people he never met, seemed so close to him. They'd tell him to slow down, They'd be on board with his whim. "I've got friends in high places," This old man had said. "Tell me don't touch the river, Just stay home instead. Everything it touches turns to gold, You don't want to be the people below, Frozen with dreams growing frail and old." The people he never met, Seemed so close to him. They'd tell him to slow down, They'd be on board with his whim. And in his mind there's a team back home, Working on course. So, what brings this broke dreamer, up here to the north?

When I stop dead in my tracks in the middle of my own fight, Just wishing for some sun in the middle of the night. Well I’ll hold out on my own, for now, Hoping love will save me somehow. If the whistlin’ birds and their tell-tale hearts, Are just wishful thoughts tossed into the air, Well I’m apathetic towards the thoughts from this world, ‘Cause I don’t care who knows I’m in love with a girl. And I pray there’s a huge banquet, filled with truth, without deceit. a harbouring feast, Tucked deep inside my mind, with no way to show, hopefully you know it, with a pressure release. ‘Cause I’m slow to spill my words, and even what they mean, To see them we may need to take a trip in my submarine. I Just wish I knew it, how to show what I know. But for now lets take a trip let me show you down below. If the singing whales and their hopeful songs, Are just optimistic musicals in a world prolonged, By it’s terrible intuition on hopeless romantics, Then I hope to God that you’re just full of these antics. If the flying squids and their taste for adventure, Is masked by a laziness to get somewhere faster, Then toss me from the water and let me taste the air, I’m only looking for my love and a faster way there.

When the storms stop raining on us, You'll wonder how we made it this far. When the skies open up and that bright setting sun, Sings us sweet melodies as it brings out the stars. Oh, when there's warmer weather, We will be there to realise, After all these months of winter's snow, We will get to open our eyes. When the storms stop snowing on us, I'll wonder how we made it this far, When those winter skies make way for the sun, We'll love the way we are. Oh, when there's warmer weather, We can sit by lakeside, And watch all the passing boats drifting in, Freedom as we sit by the tide. Oh, when there's warmer weather, We can wait for the shining stars. We won't find ourselves wishing for change, 'Cause we'll love the way we are. Oh, we'll love the way we are.

All the same coloured bricks layed down, Row by row keep them safe and sound. The same coloured bricks keep the outsides looking cold, The only differences are known to the people young and old. Down in the suburbs where we used to go, Where we'd sing our songs of the people we didn't know, There were houses upon houses and all in a row, Filled with families and people that we didn't know. Down along the roads we used to go, The houses all looked the same, And filled with people we didn't know. I wish I knew. I wish we could go again. Oh I wish we could go back again. All the same coloured bricks layed down, Row by row keep them safe and sound. The same coloured bricks keep the outsides looking cold, The only differences are the people of the inside young and old.

Rain Song 06:19
Rain, don't go away. Don't save your tear drops for another day. Pain, stuttering rain, The unsteady beat keeps me awake. Rain, illuminate, Everything that I have ever lived for. And rain, keep me alive, Keep me living for everyone who needs me. Give me this dance, I need to feel your warmth near me. Give me your hands, I need you to know all it is I want is you. What a beautiful sight, Even though some might say the rain ruins a beautiful night. And we can just lie, Look in each other's eyes, And see the hope inside, Our shine. Give me this dance, I need to feel your warmth near me. Give me your hands, I need you to know all it is I want is you. Awaken, please just awaken. I know, you're tired but we both feel shaken. Stay awake through the rain, And we'll wait, yeah we'll wait, For God himself to show us what we are living for, 'Cause I want to know so I can live it better.

Aberfoyle 03:30
I’ll take myself forward to the old winter trees, Wondering what’s waiting, or what made a home for me. Following small lamp posts, filled with gasoline, In hopes of finding my home, my home In hopes of finding my home Oh, in hopes of finding my home my home by the old winter trees Cold frigid air pinches my body, to remind, Me of the slow stars of winter that tend to lead me into night. My only fear at this point are the creatures of the night, But I find hope, find hope, find hope, find hope, I find hope, find hope, find hope, Oh, I find hope, find hope, find hope, find hope in the calming winter skies, Oh, how I found myself in front burning winter trees, As the smoke fills up my lungs and then hoards all of my belief’s. If timing was more careful, and I followed the foxes here, I’d have a home, have a home, have a home, have a home, I’d have a home, have a home, have a home. Oh, if I’d come here with those foxes I’d have a home to rest assure.

SUPER DUPER SPECIAL THANKS TO SO MANY PEOPLE:
Oh my goodness where to start. First off God for blessing me with a talent and hobby to pass the time, work out feelings, and hopefully reach people instead of smoking crack. I'd like to thank the lovely Catherine Griffin who joined me on this album and dedicated her own time to helping out. Thank you to the following people for random disclosed reasons in no particular order: All of the Griffins for making this year so much easier, Cesar Reano, Kinza Hanif, Arizona Lanceleve, Alice Best, Nat Evans, Bailee Scoggins (and friends), Kaylan Mackinnon, JoJo Worthington, Natalie Clarke, Michelle Schofield, Simon Spencer, Jason Liu, Rachel Clarke, Emilie Walsh, Taylor Swift and Karen Gillan (even though neither of you know me yet, but you totally should), and anyone who introduced my music to their friends. Thank you to anyone who signal boosted all my annoying tweets and tumblr posts and for those who stuck with me from the very start despite my horrible musical beginnings. Most importantly, thank you album purchaser for supporting my music mission for now and for future projects.

Jonathan Atkins Mississauga, Ontario

"A singer-songwriter with a devastating ear for harmonies and a delicate touch with lyrics that slide perfectly into a horrid winter. There's a definite Celtic touch, but far sweeter than something like Mumford & Sons." - Andrew Fifield (Metro News)
