Oh it's passing until it's gone, Rewriting fortunes based off all the dates we had settle on. And I'm not even sure I'll ever want it all, So I'll just keep on travelling until I hit a wall Now I'm tumbling through rapids, In heavy gusts of wind. With the world splashing right into my wild eyed childish gaze. I'm certain I was heading East, I'm pretty sure I'm off my route, But I'll keep pushing on for a few more days. Oh it's not rooting for us until we're gone. It plans our 60 year adventure 5 years before the dates we'd settled on, And I'm never certain it's at all what I want, But I'll commit to this adventure for fear of a future haunt. Now I'm tumbling through rapids, In heavy gusts of wind. With the world splashing right into my wild eyed childish gaze. I'm certain I was heading East, I'm pretty sure I'm off my route, But I'll keep pushing on for a few more days. If I only I had laminated this wide eyed paper boat. Maybe I'd be guaranteed just a few more days of mileage, Without the water flooding in. Oh the water's flooding in. Now I'm tumbling through rapids, In heavy gusts of wind. With the world splashing right into my wild eyed childish gaze. I'm certain I was heading East, I'm pretty sure I'm off my route, But I'll keep pushing on for a few more days. Oh it's passing until it's gone, Rewriting fortunes based off all the dates we had settle on. And I'm not even sure I'll ever want it all, So I'll just keep on travelling until I hit a wall

You're taking my hand, Leave your shoes in the sand, I'm telling you, my lovely dancer. Because I've curled my toes, Lost feeling in my nose, And I've still got a craving for adventure. Leave your troubles aside, Leave your problems behind, And sail with me, my dancer. We're intricately designed, Leave your feet at the shoreline, I'm not taking no for an answer.

Boardwalk 02:12
Take me down out of the city, Let's go somewhere that needs a permit. Lets break some rules and stand where people never stand, Because the animals still seem to own it. Let's hop some fences and cross borders, Hell, let's go see the boardwalk. Take me to the marsh, where there's some openings in the forest, Where the animals won't here us talk. I've got more than stupid plans for the shore. I've got bigger thoughts that I'd love to implore. I've got friends who could take me down there too, But I'd rather do some stupid shit with you. Take me right along the beaches where the dead fishies lay, Washing up upon the shore, where all the kiddies play. And then run along the grass and dance like fools, And get lost along the winding boardwalks and waste half of our day. I've got more than stupid plans for the shore. I've got bigger thoughts that I'd love to implore. I've got friends who could take me down there too, But I'd rather do some stupid shit with you.

The Pier 04:03
I've always loved this spot. No really. There's often no one here, At least this time, when street lights are shining, Everyone tries to escape the cold, but I love cold water near. Now that I'm standing at the pier, Now that everything's wandering into place. There are some things I need to hear. Just two lonely faces. You and I have found ourselves, Just separate bodies encasing entities, And my journals are on the shelves, While yours were burned with crashing cities. You could read my whole past, But you burn yours and that piece of you dies. You could check out my volumes, just ask, While the worst of you is torched in despise. And I find it sort of calming that you, Have this strong idea that you, Haven't got a clue what you've, Got in store for the future, but, Now that I'm standing at the pier, Now that everything's wandering into place. There are some things I need to hear. Just two ready faces. You are one of a different kind, That I've needed through all these years, And your beautiful soul and mind, Speaks sweet rainfall to my ears,

about

Jonathan Atkins Mississauga, Ontario

"A singer-songwriter with a devastating ear for harmonies and a delicate touch with lyrics that slide perfectly into a horrid winter. There's a definite Celtic touch, but far sweeter than something like Mumford & Sons." - Andrew Fifield (Metro News)
